Ok done with the introduction and basic of the game? Now let’s
see how PubG affects
you in real life?
PubG game has both good effect and side effects or negative side effects
on health, education, career on people’s life. Are there can be any benefits of
playing PubG as well? How does it affect our mind in positive or
negative way?
POSITIVE
IMPACTS
Many scientists and psychologists find that video games can
actually have many benefits – the main one is making people sharp.
“Video games
change your brain” according to University of Wisconsin psychologist C. Shawn Green.
PROBLEM
SOLVING SKILLS:
Playing games alter the brain’s physiological structure in a
very positive manner as do learning to read, navigating using a map, or playing
the piano. It can be understood by the example that as exercise can build
muscle, the effective combination of attentiveness and pleasing streams of
neurotransmitters like dopamine strengthen neural circuits which can develop
the brain to problem solving.
In shooting games like PubG, the character may
be running or driving and shooting at the same time. This requires the real-world
player to keep track of the position of the character, where he/she is heading,
his speed, where the gun is aiming, if the gunfire is hitting the enemy,
looking for the enemy and saving himself and so on.
All these factors
need to be taken into account, and then the player must then coordinate the
brain’s interpretation and reaction with the movement in his hands and
fingertips. This method requires a great deal of eye-hand coordination and
visual-spatial capability to succeed. All this in turn help brain to develop
advanced problem solving skills and attentiveness.
TEAM-WORK AND TOGETHERNESS:
PubG can be a source
of a great relieve for youngsters in the time of lock-down and quarantine.
Playing in team with college and school mates or friends may have a very
positive impact by fulfilment of emotional needs.
You can play, talk and
interact with your friends at the same time, strategize your moves which make
it more fun and a relaxing experience.
Many students in
various institutes formulated a tournament for PubG which resulted in much
stronger bond, declining stress levels and boosting a feeling of togetherness.
NEGATIVE IMPACT:
All the negative impacts may arise when playing game for
atleast 4-5 hours a day and that too daily. Since a single game of PubG may
last for 20-40 mins, therefore playing 4-5 games daily may be a real hazard to
your physical health.
Let’s find out how,
1. IT WILL MAKE YOU SUPER LAZY:
Just sitting around in one place and playing for
long hours is not good for your physical health, and it may turn you
into a super lazy individual. Lack of exercise and lying on a bed just playing
it for 5-6 hours every day may suck a lot of quality time from your daily
schedule, makes your mind tired and exhausted and in a long run it may badly
effect your academic, professional and physical well-being
2.
WEAKNESS IN EYE AND SIGHT:
Staring onto your mobile screen for long hours
with full concentration and focus may badly impact your sight. It is recommended
to wear some computer reading glasses to reduce some of the strain from your
eyes. But it’s even better to not play more than 2 games daily.
3. NECK PAIN
AND SPONDYLITIS:
Studies have
also revealed that sitting in uneven positions and postures can be harmful for
your neck. Playing this game and sitting in an unhealthy posture can finally
lead to cervical spondylitis and severe neck pains.
4. SLEEP DEPRIVATION:
Playing for long hours may badly effect your circadian
rhythm and sleeping habits. One of the reason for disturbed sleep is that, a
lot of dopamine signaling can make your mind more attentive and alert making it
difficult for you to sleep easily, and make you more tired the next day.
5. MOOD SWING:
Playing PubG
constantly and that too when you lose the game can make a person cranky, angry
and irritating. The game has a strong impact on the behavior and it causes
headache and other health problems. It also causes stress and unnecessary stress
on the mind.
6.
ANGER
ISSUES:
There is no doubt that this game is actually
very violent. However, while gamers are playing it they don’t realize that.
They just get so addicted to it that they don’t even realize that the violence in the game might have
some kind of impact on them. Ultimately, it turns out that they start having
aggressive thoughts and unstable emotions which becomes obvious in their
behavior. However, the gamer himself remains unknown to the reason. And his
mental health keeps getting affected little by little.
7. CARDIAC
ARREST:
Although it may seem to be a little bit aggravated
but unfortunately it is true.
After
playing PUBG for six straight hours, a 16-year-old student of class XII named
Furqan Qureshi from Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh succumbed to a major cardiac
arrest last week and lost his life - just as he lost a mission in the
multi-player mobile game.
“The
rush of anxiety, anger and hormones triggered a deep shock situation that
unfortunately blocked his heart. He was a young man, a swimmer with a healthy heart”
Dr Ashok
Jain, Cardiologist at Pukhratan hospital, Neemuch told the new media.
8. SUICIDE:
Another unfortunate incident occurred in India
when 12 years old boy committed suicide after being scolded by his parents for
not playing PubG for those much long hours.

CONCLUSION:
PubG like
many other games maybe a great source of entertainment and relaxation but as a wise
person once said,
“Excess of everything is bad”
Look out for yourself and develop healthy
habits. If parents or elder siblings are reading this, try to give your young
some attention. Play with them, talk to them, interact with them, your lack of
attention may be a reason for the kid to play games on cellular devices all day
long.
